Typical Issues Encountered with Wet Wipes Packaging Machines (Part Two)

In the realm of wet wipes packaging machinery, ensuring consistent and reliable seals is paramount to the integrity of the final product. However, like any mechanical system, wet wipes packaging machines are susceptible to various issues that can hinder their performance. In this guide, we delve into common problems encountered with wet wipes packaging machines and provide practical solutions to address them effectively.

4. Unstable Sealing Temperature: This issue becomes apparent when the thermometer display malfunctions, leading to erratic control over the sealing temperature. Consequently, the heat sealing temperature fluctuates, causing issues such as burnt seals, weak seals, seal deformation, and unsightly appearance.

The primary cause of this problem is a faulty thermometer, necessitating repair or replacement. Additionally, a broken thermocouple may hinder the transmission of temperature readings to the thermometer, requiring replacement with a compatible model.

Mechanically, uneven heat sealing pressure exacerbates the issue. Adjusting the pressure spring of the heat sealing knife to ensure consistent pressure helps mitigate this problem. Moreover, maintaining a clean pressure contact surface on the heat sealing knife prevents dirt accumulation, ensuring optimal performance.

Furthermore, poor heat sealing quality of the composite material can contribute to temperature inconsistencies. Changes in the heat sealing coefficient of the material lead to varying temperatures during the sealing process, resulting in subpar seals.

5. During production, we faced issues with the sealing machine intermittently stopping and starting, accompanied by inconsistent speed. Upon inspection, we discovered that the connection between the motor shaft and gearbox had loosened. Tightening the screws resolved the issue. Additionally, if the carbon brushes operating the main motor are excessively worn or not in full contact with the slip ring, the machine may exhibit similar behavior. Replacing the brushes can rectify this problem.

6. Air bubbles and irregular marks appearing at the seal are a common issue, impacting the packaging's aesthetics and product image, although not causing leakage. This problem usually stems from two main reasons. Firstly, prolonged use can lead to dust and plastic chip buildup on the high-temperature belt, resulting in uneven heating and seal formation. Cleaning or replacing the high-temperature belt, typically 1.5cm wide and 22μm thick, resolves this issue. Secondly, irregularities on the cold-pressed rubber wheel can leave marks on the packaging, necessitating replacement for improved appearance.

Maintenance Tips for Wet Wipes Packaging Machine Equipment:

  1. Ensure the sealing machine is stored in a well-ventilated and dry environment with a room temperature of around 25°C.
  2. Add 6# oil to all moving parts, especially gears, bearings, and gearboxes, every 48 hours of operation.
  3. Regularly remove dust to maintain cleanliness. When not in use, unplug the power supply and cover the machine with a cloth.
  4. Prior to shutdown after extended operation, activate the cooling fan to lower the temperature, preventing damage to the high-temperature belt from sudden shutdown without cooling.
  5. Clean the high-temperature zone regularly to maintain sealing quality.
  6. Replace severely worn parts promptly to extend the machine's lifespan.
